What to Expect from the iPhone 17: Leaks and Rumors Unveiled

Iphone 17

Apple’s iPhone 17 series, set to launch in September 2025, is shaping up to be a game-changer based on the latest leaks. With four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple is poised to deliver significant design and performance upgrades.

Here’s a deep dive into what we know so far.

The iPhone 17 Air is stealing the spotlight with its ultra-thin design, rumored to be just 5.5–6.25mm thick, making it Apple’s slimmest iPhone ever.

Weighing around 145 grams, it’s lighter than the iPhone 16, with a 6.6-inch display and a titanium-aluminum frame. However, its sleek build may come with trade-offs, like a single 48MP rear camera and a 2,800mAh battery which is smaller than the iPhone 16’s 3,561mAh. To counter this, Apple is reportedly introducing a silicon-anode battery and an AI-powered Adaptive Power Mode to optimize battery life.

The Air’s camera bump is said to shift to the center, with a slightly off-center USB-C port to accommodate the slim chassis. Colors may include black, silver, light blue, and light gold.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are also getting a makeover. Leaks suggest a switch from titanium to aluminum frames, with a half-aluminum, half-glass back to support wireless charging. A rectangular camera bar, stretching across the back, could house a triple 48MP camera system, including an upgraded telephoto lens and 8K video support.

The Pro Max might boast a 5,000mAh battery, a significant jump from the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 4,676mAh, promising up to 35 hours of battery life. Both Pro models may feature 12GB of RAM and the A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm process for better efficiency.

The base iPhone 17 is expected to get a 6.3-inch display, up from 6.1 inches, and may finally include ProMotion’s 120Hz refresh rate across all models. A 24MP front camera is rumored for sharper selfies, while the A18 chip (or possibly A19 for the base model) ensures solid performance.

Color options could include black, gray, silver, light blue, light green, and a vibrant orange for the Pro Max.

Apple’s event is likely set for September 9 or 10, with pre-orders starting September 12 and a release on September 19. Pricing remains uncertain, but a hike is possible due to new features and potential tariffs. The iPhone 17 Air may start at $899, while the Pro models could see a $50–100 increase.

These leaks paint a picture of a bold redesign, blending style, power, and efficiency. Will Apple deliver on these rumors? We’ll find out this fall.
