What Is the Apple HomeView?

The Apple HomeView is Apple’s first smart display. It combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen with a domed aluminium speaker base, joined by an adjustable stainless steel hinge. Think of it as Apple’s answer to the Amazon Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub.

Its screen adapts to how far away you are: from across the room it shows simple, glanceable information, and as you walk closer it shows more detail. Brightness ranges from 500 nits in daylight down to 0.3 nits at night.

Apple HomeView Key Features

Siri AI and Personal Profiles

HomeView runs Apple’s new Siri AI, which is designed for more natural conversations, general knowledge questions and better music recommendations. With a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri can also use personal context from apps like Messages and Calendar.

Facial recognition supports up to six people, each with their own personalised Home Screen showing their messages, calendar, reminders and FaceTime.

Smart Home Control and Security Cameras

HomeView acts as a dashboard for compatible lights, locks, thermostats and blinds. It can show up to nine camera feeds at once. Advanced features, such as recognising familiar faces, pets and packages, need compatible cameras and an iCloud+ subscription.

FaceTime, Music and Video

You can make FaceTime calls with Center Stage, follow recipes, set timers, and use Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV and compatible third-party apps. Sound comes from two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators.

Privacy

According to Apple, personal data is protected by on-device security, and data processed through Private Cloud Compute isn’t stored or made accessible to Apple.

Apple TV 4K: What’s New

Is the Apple HomeView Worth Buying in India?

At ₹39,900, the Apple HomeView costs far more than rival smart displays like the Amazon Echo Show range. If you mainly want a clock, timers, weather and music, a cheaper display does the job.

It makes the most sense if you already use an iPhone, Apple Music and other Apple services, and you have compatible smart home devices or cameras. For everyone else, the HomePod mini 2 at ₹18,900 is the easier way into Apple’s home ecosystem.

Buy this	If you want
Apple HomeView	A smart display deeply integrated with your iPhone and Apple services
HomePod mini 2	Great sound and Siri in a small, affordable speaker
Apple TV 4K	A powerful streaming box and smart home hub for your TV

Aadyanix Verdict: Impressive, but for Apple Fans First

The Apple HomeView is a polished first smart display from Apple, with a clever adaptive screen, Siri AI and strong privacy features. But at ₹39,900 it’s a premium product for households already invested in Apple’s ecosystem.

If that’s you, it’s worth considering. If not, start with the HomePod mini 2, or compare cheaper smart displays first. Curious about how AI assistants are evolving? Read our explainer on what AI agents are.
